Description: Piezo cable is another form for piezo polymer sensors. Designed as a coax cable, the piezo polymer is the “dielectric” between the center core and the outer braid. When the cable is compressed or stretched, a charge or voltage is generated proportional to the stress. Piezo cable has a number of advantages in certain applications. Due to its coaxial design, the cable is self-shielded, allowing its use in a high EMI environment. The piezo cable can be spliced to passive coax, using standard coax splice techniques. It is extremely rugged, and will stand up to heavy loads as with truck axle counting. Its linear format makes it ideal for monitoring large areas. Two versions of the piezo cable are offered, copolymer and spiral. The copolymer cable is only available in limited quantities. The spiral cable is most commonly used. Continuous lengths of piezo cable are available up to 1000 meters. The jacket on the cable is polyethylene.

壓電電纜是另一種形式的壓電薄膜傳感器,采用同軸設(shè)計,層與層之間采用絕緣材料。當(dāng)壓電電纜受到壓力或被拉伸時,會發(fā)生壓電效應(yīng),從而產(chǎn)生與壓力或拉力成正比的電荷或電壓信號。 壓電電纜具有很多優(yōu)點:由于采用同軸設(shè)計,可以達到自屏蔽的效果,使其能應(yīng)用在高電磁干擾的環(huán)境;利用標準的同軸電纜接合技術(shù),壓電電纜可以連接到無源的同軸電纜;電纜非常堅固,能承受很重的負載,因此被用于卡車軸數(shù)計數(shù);由于其線條的形狀,壓電電纜是大面積監(jiān)測的理想選擇。 MEAS提供兩種規(guī)格的壓電電纜,共聚物式和纏繞式。纏繞式的壓電電纜比較常用,但共聚物的原材料相當(dāng)昂貴,而且供應(yīng)有限。壓電電纜的長度可達1000米,電纜護套的材料為聚乙烯。
